No-Knead Raisin Walnut Bread
A straightforward recipe for delicious raisin walnut bread. Great at the breakfast table or as a nice snack during the day. Try this recipe with our True California Walnuts!
What You'll Need
- 1 Dutch oven
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 5 teaspoon instant dried yeast
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 3 teaspoons salt
- 5 cups water
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup True California Walnuts, chopped
Putting it All Together
- Mix flour, sugar, yeast and salt in a bowl, and then add raisins and chopped walnuts.
- Gradually add water to mix until it becomes dough
- Put dough into oiled bowl and let rest for 12-18 hours.
- Take out dough, press the dough and release air. Shape dough and place on lined baking tray. Cover and let rest for 1 hour.
- Preheat oven at 425F and place dutch oven into oven for 15 minutes.
- Place dough into dutch oven. Cover dutch oven with lid and bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Cool and enjoy!
Please Note: If you don’t have a dutch oven, you can put the bread dough on baking tray with a tray of water at the bottom of the oven. You can also substitute all-purpose flour for bread flour.
