Bourbon Red Walnut Blondie with Salted Caramel Sauce
It never hurts to live a little now and then! Here’s a recipe we found that definitely satisfies any sweet tooth. Bourbon red walnut blondies with salted caramel sauce. Delicious!
For the Blondies
What you'll need:
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 1 cup + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup red walnuts, chopped (toasted is optional)
How to make it:
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- Grease 8x8 inch baking pan with butter
- In a large bowl, use a hand mixer to beat together butter and sugar until smooth
- Add egg, vanilla, and salt and beat until mixed well. Beat in bourbon
- Add flour and beat until just combined. Stir in walnuts
- Pour batter into pan, bake until golden, 20-25 min
- Let cool for 15 min before serving
For the Salted Caramel Sauce
What you'll need:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
How to make it:
- Combine sugar and water over medium-low heat in saucepan. Dissolve sugar and bring to a boil. Boil until the mixture turns into a deep amber colored syrup.
- Remove from heat and whisk in heavy cream. Bubbling will occur.
- Stir in unsalted butter and salt
- Transfer caramel to a dish and cool
